Shown above are Microsoft’s biggest exclusive franchises for its Xbox console (Halo and Gears of War). The two have been the staple for the console’s history for the last decade, with Gears being the forefront of the 360 and Halo being the official poster boy for the console. While we’ve enjoyed both games, with the exception of Forza and Alan Wake, the series has continued to decrease in value every year.
On PlayStation, we have Heavy Rain, MotorStorm, Beyond: Two Souls, The Last of Us, Starhawk and inFamous to name a few. While those games are mainly all fun, Sony set the bar for differentiating themselves from the standard and generic alien shooter to offer variety in their titles. For the next-Xbox, we need new IP’s (games) from the start in comparison to seeing a future Halo launch title or another lackluster Gears of War game.
