It’s the best NBA 2K this decade

As much flack you’ve seen us give the NBA 2K series over the last few years, we have to commend 2K Sports for listening to its fans to create arguably the best installment of the series this decade. While it’s still leap years from surpassing NBA 2K7 or its predecessors from the Dreamcast days (see: Iso-Motion), this is the best version we’ve played since NBA 2K9.

That says lot, considering both 2K11 and 2K13 were great, and 2K14 before its patch, but last year’s game almost made us completely give up on the series. From its TNT style presentation, to an extension of MyCareer with Spike Lee and various gameplay issues being addressed, we have little to no complaints about NBA 2K16 so far. It’s cliché to say this, but it actually requires serious skill this time around and if you’re not a hardcore player of the title, your skills will be shown on the court.

There’s no computer assist on offense to finish an animated drive, as you’ll have literally do an entire sequence yourself. This is a giant leap forward for many of us who’ve felt the series had become a bit dull this decade, but the future looks promising to potentially surpass PlayStation’s MLB The Show for the best overall sports game on the market.
