Stay tuned for the official next-generation reveal of Call of Duty 2014 this Sunday at noon!
UPDATE: Advanced trailer added after jump!
Earlier this year, Activision announced a third developer for their popular Call of Duty series being Sledgehammer Games. In the past, we’ve seen a bi-annual tradeoff release between Infinity Ward and Treyarch, but the long-time first person shooting series is looking to see a huge facelift this fall with the next installment of Call of Duty.
Activision took to twitter today starting their pre-E3 campaign earlier than expected announcing an official world reveal this Sunday, with the caption a new era arrives. While that remains to be seen, the genre will be seeing fierce completion this holiday with Titanfall and Killzone still dominating the launch windows of Xbox One and PlayStation 4 respectively, and Electronic Arts’ police-themed Battlefield 5 coming later this year as well.
Game informer obtained a new image of the game (see above photo), which features military solider sporting exoskeleton armor suits. While that’s a huge relief in comparison to the soldiertear drop first photo we encountered last week, there should be tons of competitive action this Sunday to hopefully justify another look into the Call of Duty franchise.
