IGN was blessed by Take-Two Interactive to world premiere the first full length game-play video featuring only on court footage. In this 10-minute video, we get previewed to the World Champion Miami Heat and the new look Los Angeles Lakers. Most noticeably in the game is the upgrade in defense compared to the previous installment as well as the offensive goal tending we came to fall in love with in 2K12 being toned down for 2K13. No word on whether this will be the official demo we get to test out in a few weeks but this definitely looks better than the Spurs and Thunder demo from e3.
Microsoft also released a video for the basketball sim featuring the Kinect Integration, which will be a first in the series. While using Kinect in the game, you’ll be able to call timeouts, make substitutions and for the hardcore audience you’ll be able to call plays if you know the game of basketball. They also put the “Better With Kinect” phrase on the box cover, which for single player in my opinion will be better to use Kinect versus having to go through your controller and choose substitutions, different defense keeping your total focus on the court movements at all times.
NBA 2K13 is shaping up to be the best sports game this season (not named MLB 12: The Show of course), as you can take it to the hardwood when it hits shelves October 2nd.
