For those of you that are new to the party, we’d like to introduce you to “Destiny.” In the past, the Halo series was developed exclusively on the Xbox platform by former creator Bungie, but in 2010 they branched off from being a Microsoft exclusive brand to form their own entity as a legitimate third party company. Bungie has since moved on to become to acquire an exclusive 10-year partnership with Activision/Blizzard and beyond in the foreseeable future for publishing rights.
Last night during the PlayStation E3 2013 conference, we witnessed the debut of in-game action for the upcoming first person shooter, using elements in an open world setting far beyond what we’ve seen in the past. The game was running on the PlayStation 4, but will be available on all current and next-gen Sony and Microsoft platforms. It incorporates a MMO similarity that’s only hindered from true-form by a match-making system.
