Xbox Play Anywhere Updated. . . .

Last month at the 2016 edition of e3 in Los Angeles, one of the most talked about announcements during the Microsoft show, was its Xbox Play Anywhere function.

With the company implementing cross-platform play for Windows 10 connected devices, many were under the impression that all published games from Microsoft would fall under the guidelines of making a single purchase for play anywhere. However, the company has now issued a statement, saying that only titles premiering during their live event like ReCore, Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 3 would be the first confirmed titles to feature the new method.

This led some to even believe that a future Halo title on Xbox One/Scorpio would see a simultaneous release down the line on Windows 10, which could still happen, but this slip up doesn’t give gamers much hope anymore. Take a look at the official statement below.

“When we unveiled Xbox Play Anywhere, we said that every new Microsoft Studios title shown at the Xbox E3 2016 Briefing will support Xbox Play Anywhere. We understand that a recent blog post didn’t specify that the only Microsoft Studios titles we’ve confirmed to date as Xbox Play Anywhere were shown at the E3 2016 Xbox briefing.”
