Rip Silent Hills next-gen!
While Hideo Kojima and Konami have tried to keep their internal rift public before the release of their last collaboration Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain this September, they broke the hearts of many PlayStation gamers last March – revealing that their AAA-title Silent Hills was cancelled.
Through various petitions to Konami to allow Kojima and his senior staff have creative control to finish the final 20% of the game; Microsoft was rumored to have allegedly taken notice to the first next-generation entry of the popular survival horror video game survival horror video game.
Apparently, the company was looking to purchase and release the former PS4 exclusive Silent Hills for Xbox One, but Head of Xbox Phil Spencer responded to a fan of social media yesterday – debunking any rumors of the possible billion dollar acquisition and the possibility of its next-generation reboot.
It’s safe to say Silent Hills on next-generation will likely never see a retail release.
@GoReds42093 @Xbox Sorry, this isn't true. Not sure where the rumor started but I don't want to mislead anyone.
