The greatest video game series of all time is coming to netflix!
Remember 8 years ago when the gaming world was victim of a Legend of Zelda April Fool’s Day movie trailer? Well after fans and casuals have cried many years for some type real-time release, Netflix has has secretive plans of creating a project in the near project. According to Wall Street Journal, the streaming giant is working on a live-action TV series for the legendary Nintendo video game. At the present, the series doesn’t even have a writer, cast or director – but has been described as ‘Game of Thrones’ like, for the family.
With the HBO series set to only have a few more seasons to air before it comes to an end, Netflix and Nintendo could immediately be ready for to launch of Zelda at the decades end. Game of Thrones star, Jack Gleeson (Prince Joffrey Baratheon) is currently being the helmed by fans as the front-runner to assume the role of Link, while both Princess Zelda and Ganondorf have seen numerous suggestions tossed around. This news leak comes only a few weeks after Sony Pictures announced their acquisition to the movie rights to Mario Bros. over the holiday.
With the Nintendo Wii U finally set to receive the first ever HD installment for the series later this year, we’re hoping an e3 reveal is imminent to formally announce the Netflix and Zelda project in June
