The cover-based third-person shooter features characters we’ve previously introduced you to that have the ability to manipulate time after a time travel experiment goes extremely wrong. With e3 coming in a few days, Microsoft wanted to release a short clip featuring creative director Sam Lake explaining the background behind the game for those out of the loop and quietly revealing in the midst of the news that it would be seeing a slight delay to 2015.

Fans of Max Payne and Alan Wake should feel familiar with the time adjustment in-game engine we’ve previously seen in the past, but Quantum Break expects to take the genre to a new level. OS REWIND: Quantum Break “VGX 2013” Trailer

Remedy Entertainment, the critically-acclaimed creators of “Max Payne” and “Alan Wake,” will showcase “Quantum Break’s” signature, time-amplified gameplay for the very first time in August at Europe’s largest gaming show, gamescom. To give fans a sneak peek at what they can expect later this summer, Remedy Entertainment released a new “Quantum Break” video narrated by Creative Director Sam Lake that provides new story details and never-before-seen footage from the game.

Launching in 2015 exclusively for Xbox One, “Quantum Break” delivers an entertainment experience like no other with the fusion of an intense, cinematic action game and a high-quality, live-action show. The game follows “Quantum Break’s” hero, Jack Joyce, as he desperately struggles to prevent the end of time, while the show revolves around the conspiracies and intrigue within the villainous corporation called Monarch Solutions, Jack’s main enemy. Together, they form an intertwining narrative where the actions you take directly impact how the story across both the game and the show unfolds.
