Today, Sony has finally launched their long-awaited 3.50 system update – which finally introduces the expansion of remote play to PC and Mac. If you have Xbox One, streaming to PCs was something that was implemented during last fall’s update; but the PlayStation 4 one-ups their competition with the help of Apple. Gamers will now have the ability to play their favorite tiles in 720p resolutions on desktop or laptop machines, with the capability of reaching 60-frames-per-second as well. You’ll also need a USB controller to play over USB if you want a non-traditional home gaming experience.

Take a look at the breakdown below.

Remote Play on PC / Mac is compatible with the following system software:

Windows 8.1
Windows 10 or later
OS X 10.10
OS X 10.11

You’ll be able to select from the following resolution and frame rate options.

Resolution options: 360p, 540p, 720p (Default: 540p)
Frame rate : Standard (30fps), High (60fps) (Default: Standard)

You can use one DualShock 4 as the controller for Remote Play, which needs to be connected to your PC / Mac via a USB cable.
