Legendary creator, director and producer of the original Resident Evil series, Shinji Mikami has been on an 8 year hiatus from the field of gaming.
Since leaving Capcom games in 2006, he has formed his own company in 2010 Tango Gameworks to bring life back into the already cluttered survival horror series genre; that’s become relatively stagnant in recent years. The company was acquired by ZeniMax Media Inc. which is also parent company of Bethesda Softworks (known for hits like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout). Last year, The Evil Within was announced and revealed under the working title Project Zwei, that became intriguing for gamers to at least keep an eye on.
Two weeks ago at the Tokyo Game Show, we were formally introduced to the game in a brief mini-teaser, showcasing elements for the new title and why we should be paying attention to creator of Resident Evil’s latest invention. After the jump, you can watch the new extended trailer that wasn’t show at TGS, and then look for the game to impact Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One next year.
