Xbox One Launch Buyer’s Guide

The most talked about story for next-generation is obviously the games. Microsoft has moved on from focusing on competitors like Nintendo and Sony to invade living rooms and be a legitimate competitor to satellite companies and more in particular Apple (for the distant future). With so many titles being delayed on the PlayStation 4 to increase their impressive gaming portfolio in 2014, Xbox One will be the console ironically with the best games for holiday 2013.

From Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Killer Instinct, and the wildcard release in Ryse: Son of Rome; Microsoft’s improved this time around in comparison to the their predecessor that was highlighted by horrendous ports. Dead Rising 3 is the consoles biggest release this year, which will be one of the main reason gamers will make their decision whether to jump into the next-generation or wait until next Spring when the first wave of AAA titles see light. Both Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 will also have exclusive timed DLC map packs first on the Xbox One consoles this winter, which could also be a Trojan horse into driving sales even more for the future.

Microsoft lacks a first person shooter heading into their launch in a few days from now, but they will have the most intriguing exclusive of 2014 being Titanfall. Whether the console will be creating more IP’s in comparison to the PlayStation 4 remains to be seen, but from our experience with Titanfall thus far, it’s the sole Killer-App title that we can vouch for in 2014.
