Features (Instant Switching, SkyDrive & More)
The newly updated dashboard set up has instant switching from movie watching, music listening, online gaming sessions, web browsing and Live TV to name a few will be one of newest innovations to next-generation gaming. The NFL on XBOX One, HBO Go (coming shortly after the launch), ESPN, and Verizon FiOS TV are some of the services you’ll be seeing after the console hits retailers.
Sadly, there’s no NBA Gametime App at launch for the console in case you’re sharing a league pass account with a few buddies; but along with NHL Center and MLB Extra Innings, we should see those surface before the top of next year. Xbox Fitness (which is also a game) is one of the more popular apps for the collection that will be the Microsoft equivalent to Nintendo Wii Fitness that has been popular among the casual install base.
The social experience on Xbox One will be highlighted by SkyDrive, which will be used for a larger scale of viewing photos, using music or watching video all simultaneously within the Windows-8 like interface. Internet Explorer, Upload and Skype (free for unlimited calls in a trial period) will also be some of the popular apps the console will see in the big day one update. The SmartGlass app which hasn’t seen a major boost in promotion from Microsoft has been one of the underground tools gamers have been using as a remote play companion through Windows Phone, Windows 8, iOS and Android devices among others. On launch day, you’ll be able to control every app within the Xbox One U.I. as well as Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, and Ryse: Son of Rome to name a few.
