Jane The Virgin
With both Gossip Girl and 90210 gone from the CW, the network is looking for a comedy-drama series to recapture the magic they had earlier in the 2010s. One show that’s getting tons of press and arguably the best series to hit networks this fall is Jane the Virgin. Serving as a spin-off to popular Venezuealn series, the forthcoming coming headliner from CW will be going head-to-head with ESPN’s Monday Night Football and the biggest series on TV, The Big Bang Theory. Starring late 20-something-year old’s Gina Rodriguez and Justin Baldoni, viewers will have comfort knowing that this is one of the guaranteed new shows for a second season renewal in the coming weeks.
The series focuses on a young Latina woman by the name of Jane, who’s still a virgin and is accidentally artificially inseminated for pregnancy. When her life is turned upside down, the religious and hard-working Miami native breaks family tradition of having a child before marriage, as well as her virginity. The father’s background isn’t something her family would approve of either, but we’re sure masses will instantly find themselves hooked on the series leading up to the holiday season.
Jane the Virgin premieres Monday, October 13 at 9pm ET/PT on CW
