10 New Fall 2014 TV Series You Should Watch

The Affair

The premium networks (HBO, Showtime and STARZ) are mostly quiet this fall with new series premieres, but SHOWTIME is treating fans with one of the more anticipated shows arriving in a few days known as The Affair. The Wire’s own, Dominic West (Detective James McNulty) finally lands his a starring role on TV, and is joined by the likes of Ruth Wilson, Maura Tierney and Joshua Jackson from Cruel Intentions. With Homeland in shambles and receiving negative flack for the way the series is heading, Showtime is in need of a fresh show to shake things up now that Californication, Dexter, and Nurse Jackie are (will be) gone from the line-up.

Now that HBO has a solidified franchise heading forward with True Detective, Showtime is hoping The Affair can capture some that audience and create magic on Sundays this fall. Using some similarities from What Lies Beneath, a couple who’s looking to rekindle their relationship in the Hamptons, soon finds themselves on one of their emotional and tense rides of their lifetime, when one affair changes everything.

The Affair premieres Sunday, October 12 at 10pm ET/PT on SHOWTIME
