The critically acclaimed director of Hunger and Shame, Steve McQueen, has returned with an upcoming historical drama film. Based on the well-known autobiography by Solomon Northup, 12 Years A Slave will cast the likes of Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Paul Giamatti, Michael K. Williams and many others. The film is brought to us by the producers of Terrence Malick’s fascinating The Tree Of Life, and will focus around the time of 1841 and the true story of Solomon, a free man who was kidnapped and sold into slavery after leaving everything he had behind.
Expect the release to hit theatres on October 18th this year.
