Hip hop artist have been getting sneaker deals since the early years, with Hollis Queens trio Run DMC being one of the first blueprints for showing the world that rappers can actually sell sneakers. With the recent re-emergence of popular hip hop acts doing business with major sneaker brands, artist like Kanye West, Big Sean, Lil Wayne, and now Drake have been helping add strong points to the debate of rappers being able compete with athletes in selling sneakers.

2 Chainz stopped by ESPN’s Sportsnation to play a quick game of T.R.U or Not T.R.U, and give his opinion on the infamous rapper sneaker influence vs athlete sneaker influence debate.
