Fox not slowing down after highest total gross year ever
Last year, 20th Century Fox broke global box office records, generating over $5.5 billion in total earnings. With the large success of X-Men: Days of Future Past and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the world’s second large film studio is looking ahead to takeover box offices once again.
Phase 3 of the Marvel Universe maybe already locked in with multiple releases from 2016 to 2018, but Fox has one much-anticipated Marvel-related motion picture to finally arrive next year. X-Men spin-off Gambit starring Channing Tatum has been finally dated for an October 7, 2016 release – which will surprisingly face-off directly against Warner Bros.’ Live by Night starring Ben Affleck and Universal’s Monster High. Fox also soon revealed the official video game adaption for Assassin’s Creed directed by Justin Kurzel and starring Michael Fassbender to arrive December 21, 2016 – arriving one week after Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The next installment of the Planet of the Apes series, however, was unfortunately delayed from its original July 29, 2016 release date to July 14, 2017. 20th Century did have great news to end, with revealing the sequel to Fantastic Four has been moved up from July 14, 2017 to June 2, 2017. Look movie trailers and teasers to all of the previous announced projects to arrive in the coming months.
