HUM∀NS
The most intriguing new series we’ve come across in not only this summer, but arguably the entire decade, has been AMC’s Humans. On initial glance, this show might be too much for some casual science-fiction viewers to take in but the British summer hit made us fall in love with five Synth robots: Fred, Max, Leo, Niska and the lovely Anita. In the modern day, a London family of five needs some help around their house and decides to purchase a new robot.
While things appear to be semi-normal in the Hawkins household with their new helper, Laura (the mom) soon discovers that their Synch Anita displays signs of being something more than artificial intelligence. Through various discoveries and her daughter hacking Anita’s motherboard, the family soon learns that Anita is a conscious being, just like them.
Surprisingly, the family is in full support of helping her find her son, brothers and sisters; but local authorities want this project to stay under the wraps. With the first season wrapping up last month, Channel 4 already committed to bringing the series back for a continuation of the unique story.
