Would you embrace the return of Training Day?

As Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke both gear up for their reunion in Magnificent Seven, film director Antoine Fuqua has reportedly teamed up with producer Jerry Bruckheimer to resurrect Training Day. While the project is unlikely to star Washington and Hawke, the new crime-TV series adaption is currently being pitched to all major networks by Warner Bros. The show is set to take place exactly 15 years after the original events from the 2001 theatrical release and will center on a pair of cops in the streets of Los Angeles.

However, unlike the original, there’s a twist with the new series, as Warner plans to flip things with a white older investigation and have a rookie black cop. While Fuqua awaits a green light, his most recent work was seen last month with Eminem and 50 Cent in the boxing film, Southpaw. We’ll keep you posted on any news in the coming months whether or not this series lands a TV home and lead actors.
