A Walk Through The Underbelly Project: Art In The Streets

For over a century, a subway station sat underneath New York City unfinished, with no knowledge of its existence by the regular resident. The Underbelly Project came together in 2009, asking artists to leave their creative mark at the station and be a part of history. For over a year, various people painted their vision on the walls, experiencing one full night each inside the dark station —without any disturbance from the outside world.

This video takes you underground and up close to, as what they describe, “an elusive pirate treasure of contemporary art.” Indeed it is.
