R.I.P. Jimi Hendrix!
After news and a few sneak peeks for the upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic All By My Side, the official trailer for the film is now out. The movie is directed by Academy Award-winning director John Ridley (12 Years a Slave), centering on the early years of Jimi’s career. As you may already know, André Benjamin, otherwise known around these parts as Andre 3000 from Outkast, will be the lead role in the film, which will focus on his time as a backup guitarist in New York City between 1966 and 1967. This was right around the time he recorded Are You Experienced, before he played at the Monterey Pop Festival in London.
The rest of how he became a rock icon and legend on the guitar is history.
All By My Side also stars Hayley Atwell, Imogen Poots and Burn Gorman, and is set to hit theaters on September 26, 2014.
