Prime Membership gets better with music streaming service joining Fire TV & Instant Video.
Amazon has finally dived into the online arena of streaming music services headlined by Beats Music, Spotify, Pandora, Google Play Music and Rhapsody among others.
Today, their new Prime Music service has officially launched, featuring unlimited and ad-free streaming for millions of your favorite songs. The company was able to land successful licensing arrangements with Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, and independent labels – but noticeably missing from the musical content is the world’s largest music corporation, Universal Music Group. Amazon’s vice president of digital music Steve Boom revealed the company is looking to add UMG content in the very near future.
Amazon Prime members will receive the streaming service free included in their recent membership increase to from $79 to $99 we learned about in March. Non-members for Amazon can give Prime Music a 30-day free, as no pricing for a standalone service has been revealed yet. With Amazon set to reveal their official smart phone later this summer, you can stream the service on a wide range of devices right now including: Kindle Fire HD and HDX devices, iOS, Android, PC and Mac.
