It was only a matter of time, but after witnessing Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Jurassic World and Furious 7 become three of six the highest grossing theatrical films in box office history, movie goers could soon see a significant price hike in the coming months years.

Following its recent acquisition of Odeon and UCI Cinemas, AMC CFO Craig Ramsey went to say, “Both cinemas are further advanced in variable pricing, where tentpole movies are priced up on release. We expect to learn a lot with what they’ve done. We think it will position us to start having those conversations about pricing opportunities in the U.S.”
