Yes, you read that right. The legend of Ron Burgundy continues…again. In unprecedented fashion, Ron Burgundy and the rest of America’s favorite news team will be back in theaters for a special one week re-release, courtesy of Paramount Pictures and director Adam McKay.
The film has been upgraded to an R rating, thanks to a whopping 763 new over-the-top jokes and hilarious new scenes, which include weather man Brick Tamland exposing himself during a live broadcast. Will Ferrell spoke on the reworked film during an appearance on The Tonight Show, telling Jimmy Fallon, “It’s the same movie, it’s 20 minutes longer, there’s a musical number we had to cut from the original one, little treats like that.”
The continuation of the sequel is officially titled Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues: Super-Sized R-Rated Version. Having already made over $170 million worldwide the first time around, the raunchy rehashed comedy will be projected across the US on 1,000 screens starting February 28th.
