Over the past few years, NBA players have been stepping outside of the traditional on-court footwear such as Nike, Reebok and Adidas; to venture with some new brand names. Last year when all-star guard Dwyane Wade announced his departure from Jordan Brand and joined Chinese show brand Li Ning; it shook up the NBA, with one of the first major superstars to stray away from the big dogs and get a signature line under a brand out of the norm.
Now Boston Celtics all star point guard Rajon Rondo makes his stamp in history, leaving sports footwear giants Nike and now joining forces with Chinese sportswear brand Anta for his very own first official sneaker model. Anta and Rondo put together his signature silhouette based on his style of play, going with a sleek mid-top featuring his own personalized logo (very reminiscent to the classic Air Jordan Jumpman logo).
Rondo will be taking the court in his new signature Anta sneaker in upcoming 2013-1014 NBA season, which we’ll keep you posted on the shoe’s release date. Check out detailed images on the Rajon Rondos below.
