The ‘Avatar’ tetralogy starts 2017 and ends 2019!
Previously set for Christmas Day 2016, legendary director James Cameron has unfortunately revealed the epic science fiction film, Avatar 2 would be delayed a year. Following the original Avatar release in 2009, it went to become the highest-grossing film in history, totaling nearly $2.8 billion in box office revenue.
While expectations have never been higher for a film release ever, a calm Cameron opened up on why the scripts haven’t been finished, saying he and his team are having plot complexity for the three releases.
Although it’s been nearly 6 years since the first installment of the series, James is still set to roll-out the tetralogy of sequels in consecutive years – spanning from December 2017 to 2019. Filming dates haven’t been set yet, but the three sequels are set to be shot in New Zealand, where the first Avatar emanated.
