Kill them all Thanos!
Just two months removed from their release of Black Panther, which opened to an insane $371 million weekend, Disney gets to celebrate the biggest weekend ever for a state-side release.
Avengers: Infinity War has shattered records for The Fate of the Furious and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, opening to $630 million first three days in box office revenue. While the final weekend numbers haven’t been released, since this information surfaced Sunday; the project could be on its way to approaching $1 billion in revenue for an entire one-week span.
The final numbers are set to emerge tomorrow; but dethroning Star Wars, which occupied the spot at $248 million, was enough for Disney and Marvel Studios to boast about. Considering the project took $300 million alone to make, its untitled sequel is already planned to arrive May 3, 2019. FOX’s Deadpool 2 and Lucasfilm’s Solo projects are set to release within the next three weeks.
However, we have serious doubts anything will come close to this, until Avengers 4 next year.
