‘The Batman’ coming 2020?
Given that Ben Affleck’s solo Batman film is the most important releases for the current DC Universe, he’s taking his time to properly write the script – instead of putting out a rushed project. During an interview with The New York Times, the long-time actor confirmed that the film’s script wasn’t even finished and is shying away from meeting a release date that Warner Bros. has in place for 2019.
He went to say “I’m a real believer in not doing, not reverse engineering projects to meet a window or a date, but rather like when you get the right story or you get the right idea or you get the right thing, then you make the movie.” With the release target for Justice League 2 being delayed after its original June 14, 2019 date was given to a mystery project just days ago, many are under the impression that The Batman will absorb that slot. At the moment, Affleck is set to appear in next November’s release of Justice League, which just wrapped up final shooting last week.
Ben’s role in the DC Cinematic Universe is under heavy monitoring, due to fan’s underwhelming responses to both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. Look for more details in the coming months, pertaining to the status of the script for Bruce Wayne’s next solo affair.
