We’re big fans of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, so Ben Affleck‘s new Live By The Night trailer immediately peaked our interests. He’s starring and directing in the film too.
The movie is based on the book Live By The Night by Dennis Lehane, which is about organized-crime and bootlegging during the prohibition era. Of course, that puts Affleck’s character as one of the ruthless villains in the flick. He doesn’t start that way, though. He starts as the son of a Boston police officer who starts bootlegging liquor and evolves into a full-out gangster in Florida.
Live by The Night will hit theaters on January 13, 2017 and also stars Elle Fanning, Zoe Saldana, Brendan Gleeson, Chris Messina and more.
