Over the past few weeks, it has been a toss up for Ben Simmons on whether or not he sign for Nike and Adidas. Apparently, Adidas was offering him more money, but the legacy of Nike cannot be fronted on. Nike would be more incentive based (ie. if he landed in a major market, received all-rookie honors, All-Star ballot, etc), and after much consideration it seems like the projected No. 1 pick in this year’s NBA Draft has decided his future is with the swoosh.
Simmons announced the news on Twitter through Uninterrupted, which is LeBron James‘ multimedia platform. Considering his is represented by Rich Paul, who also represents LBJ, it makes sense young Ben would sign with Nike, since LeBron just signed a lifetime deal with the company.
The NBA Draft goes down June 23. Will the Philadelphia 76ers pull the trigger on Simmons?
