Some may know of Director X through his latest work (Drake, Justin Bieber, etc) but do you really know Little X has been making videos since the early 2000’s? He came up under the wing of Hype Williams during the time where blockbuster videos with million dollar budgets were the norm. Even though the game has changed since, his creativity is still active and he talks about it in Canada’s “New Cinema” series.
In the interview, he talks about how uses art as influence to direct music videos, changing the perception of certain artist’s careers after working with them. He also shares some classic stories from his glory days, including shooting a video for Busta Rhymes, guerrilla style, and getting busted for it after the riot police showed up.
