Charlie Sheen revealed he has HIV on TODAY
Last week, reports surfaced that a major Hollywood actor, well-known for his heavy partying and drug usage was HIV positive. While many went to draw an immediate conclusion that it was Charlie Sheen, the long-time actor and entertainer could no longer hold his secret from the world, and went to NBC’s TODAY Show to address the status of his health. In an interview with Matt Lauer, Sheen just flat out opened things up saying, “I’m here to admit that I am in fact HIV-positive.”
He revealed that he’s known about his status for four years, after suffering a series of migraine headaches and waking up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat.
After privately telling a few of his friends in confidentiality, Charlie was extorted for up to $10 million dollars, which he paid those people to keep quiet. However, after the tabloids and the virus now undetectable in his blood stream after treatments from doctors, Sheen cleared rumors that he was knowingly spreading the disease. Dr. Robert Huizenga would also join the interview, revealing that the odds of Sheen spreading the virus are low, if he continues to take his daily medicine.
