Off the strength of another successful year for James Franco, the actor takes on a rather more serious role as writer and director of the upcoming drama Child Of God, which will be based on Cormac McCarthy’s popular novel of the same name.
Starring the likes of himself, Scott Haze, Tim Blake Nelson and Jim Parrack, the story follows the life of a violent man who attempts to live as far apart from society as possible, with the trailer showing a haunting passage being read from the book’s title. With only 46 seconds of footage in the clip, there’s no question whether we’re given the old-fashioned effect of a teaser, giving us every reason to look forward to the full release.
Although the date of hitting theatres is still up in the air, the film is set to debut in Venice on August 31st.
