That’s disgusting, you’re my sister – only by Blood!
Since Cruel Intentions first released in 1999, it sparked a slew of teen-based erotica dramas. The Manhattan-based film is set to see a reboot, thanks to NBCs aggressive approach to find another series to generate viewership not named Law & Order or The Voice. While we doubt this project will be able to generate that ratings goal, we’re curious to see if they take a Scream Queens approach to the spin-off with enlisting various celebrities.
We don’t expect Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, or Reese Witherspoon to reprise their original roles for obvious reasons, but a cameo from two of the three could be likely at one point after the show is green lighted. The series, which will be set in the modern day of the social media age, will follow the rags-to-riches story of 16-year-old Bash Casey, son of the late Sebastian Valmont.
Following the unfortunate passing of his father (check your calendar), Bash learns about his family legacy he never knew it existed, due to his mother Annette Hargrove moving to a small town of Kansas. Now with new wealth, young Bash follows his father’s footsteps and decides to head to the big city of San Francisco and enroll in Brighton Preparatory Academy on scholarship.
However, the world of sex, money, power and corruption is something the 16-year-old doesn’t expect to indulge in when coming across new wealth. Look for more details to emerge about the show in the coming months and a possible premiere at some point in 2016.
