Dave Chappelle is still the funniest guy in the business.
Days after his appearance on David Letterman, Dave Chappelle made his way to The Tonight Show to continue promoting his upcoming shows at Radio City Music Hall. Of course it wouldn’t be official unless he told some funny stories in the process.
The first one he told coincided with The Roots (since they’re the house band), where he explained how he was confused as a long lost member of he crew back in the day at a show in Maine, because people didn’t know any better. Meeting them actually led to him booking the musical guests on the first season of Chappelle’s Show.
The funniest part of his interview had to be his story about meeting Kanye West. This was back when nobody knew him and he was running around with Talib Kweli, but Dave knew after meeting him he was going to be huge. His story about it was hilarious.

OS REWIND: Dave Chappelle To Headline Radio City Music Hall Shows In June
Seriously, if Jerry Seinfeld can get his own show online, there’s no way Dave Chappelle can’t get his own with full creative control. SOMEBODY MAKE THAT HAPPEN! That story about the fake Dave beefing with Katt Williams on Twitter and his experience on Facebook would be comedy gold online. Shit would go viral!
