Ben Affleck is directing and writing his own Batman film!
With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (March 25, 2016) and Justice League: Part One (November 17, 2017) set to smash box offices over the next two years, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have dropped a bomb to start San Diego Comic-Con 2015. Ben Affleck, who’s already set to star as the new Dark Knight for the two previous announced films, will be getting his own solo film for the next installment for the Batman franchise.
Affleck is set to direction the entire motion picture and receive script writing help from Geoff Johns for the stand-alone affair. The script is likely to be completed before the end of the summer, which could even make a release to cinemas before the decade’s end – given how well Affleck and Johns are in synch currently. It’s still unclear where Bruce Wayne end up within the realm of upcoming DC Films Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman projects, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the next Batman film arrives in 2018 after their box office takeover.
