The fact he didn’t keep his word to Chalky makes me hate Dr. Narcisse more. I was never fond of his character, but I can see why he did it. Chalky is a liability. At any given point, he would probably turn on him and ruin the empire he worked so hard to build. What did Chalky have to lose? He wasn’t living for anything anymore. Now Valentin is left to face the battle against Lucky Luciano alone, or maybe he clicks up with Nucky Thompson, who is looking to settle the score himself. Either way, Chalky was never part of the equation.
Will we ever know if he kept his word to Daughter Maitland? If there’s any shred of decency inside this man, we hope he does.
