Troy and Abed in the Morning!
Yesterday, at FX’s 2016 Summer TCA Press Tour Presentation, Donald Glover was on hand to promote his upcoming comedy-drama series, Atlanta. However, before the public is re-introduced to him on the small screen in a few weeks, he addressed a few looming questions – including his unfortunate departure from Community during season five.
Gambino, who opted not reprise his role as Troy after its cancellation on NBC for Yahoo Screen, he went to say, “I just like endings. I think everything should have death clauses in them. Humans have death clauses in them. I’m glad things end because it forces things to progress. I get really frustrated in the world that things could be better but can’t be better because they haven’t died yet.”
Regarding his upcoming dark comedy series, Glover also told reporters saying, “The thesis with the show was kind of to show people how it felt to be black. What was important to me was that this show was personal and had a specific take, because that’s all you can really ask for from a show nowadays, is having a specific point of view on something.”
Look for Atlanta’s premiere this September 6th at 10:00pm ET/PT on FX.
