Eddie Murphy Cast as Richard Pryor’s Father in Biopic

This movie wouldn’t feel right without Mr. Quick!

Over the last few years, one motion picture project that has been uncertain of actually becoming a reality is the untitled Richard Pryor biopic. after nearly a decade of teasing the idea, Mike Epps was formally announced last August to play the lead role Pryor, alongside Oprah Winfrey as his grandmother (Marie Carter) and Kate Hudson as his wife (Jennifer). ET has revealed Eddie Murphy, longtime friend of the late comedian will be assuming the role of his father LeRoy “Buck Carter” Pryor, a former boxer. Now that we have a main cast for the upcoming Lee Daniels-directed film, we’re hopeful a filming set date is in place before the year’s end.
