Maybe late 2018 for Gambit?
With the first quarter nearing an end in a few weeks, 20th Century Fox has scheduled some release dates for a few of its top franchises. Unfortunately, one of the films receiving a yellow-light for the time being is Gambit, as production for the film got delayed after directing duties changed.
The X-Men spin-off film was originally set to arrive to theaters next year, but is now on hiatus indefinitely. Fox went to schedule future untitled Marvel films with the dates October 6, 2017, and another on January 12, 2018. Despite an r-rating, Deadpool has surpassed $600 million in worldwide revenue and could make a push to inch as close as it can to a billion.
The sequel, Deadpool 2, is expected to absorb one of the dates, as we expect Marvel Entertainment and Ryan Reynolds to quickly come up with a script – if they haven’t already by now.
