Get ready for the Mayans!
Nearly an entire ago, it was first reported that FX was developing an official spin-off series for its popular drama, Sons of Anarchy. With 16 months removed from its final episode in 2014, the continuation effort has been given an official name, entitled Mayans MC. The pilot has officially been ordered, which will focus on the Oakland-based biker gang from the perspective of a Latino lenses.
While casting and premiere date details haven’t been revealed by FX Networks, series creator Kurt Sutter and producer Elgin James will helm the upcoming drama’s first episode. Through a recent press release statement, the channel is pitching the show as a “dark, visceral family drama that takes a new look at the most American of icons, the 1% outlaw, this time reflected through a Latino lens.”
With the story of Jax Teller concluded after the original show’s seventh and final season two years ago, look for more details this year on Kurt Sutter’s next series gem.
