It’s time for the next generation of Chromecast and if you already have the capabilities, Google’s new device may be in your lane. During today’s Pixel event, the company announced Chromecast Ultra, a new version that will support 4K streaming. If you have the upgraded subscription for Netflix or watch a lot of 4K videos on Youtube, this will send crystal clear streaming to your TV.
The processor has also been updated, now running 1.8x faster than the last Chromecast that was released.
Not only that, but for the higher streaming videos, if your WiFi connection is going slow, you can hook up an Ethernet cable straight to the device and get a faster speed. It will also upport HDR content (HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats).
You’re going to have to pay more for the new Chromecast Ultra, though. Google is saying that it will go for $69 when it is released in November.
