Boxing movies have been coming more often than we’ve seen the past few years and the next story Hollywood will be telling is that of Roberto Duran. The Hands of Stone biopic has just released their first trailer and it will star Robert De Niro as trainer Ray Arcel.
Edgar Ramírez will play the role of the Panamanian boxer, who came from the slums of Panama and rose to boxing’s elite. The rivalry with Sugar Ray Leonard (played by Usher), which happens to be one of the greatest in history, will also be shown in the film. Viewers will get to see why he was nicknamed “hands of stone” and follow his story and how Duran and Arcel changed each other’s lives.
The Jonathan Jakubowicz-directed movie will be out in theaters on August 26, 2016.
