The new Apple TV
At last the fourth generation Apple TV was finally revealed. Yes, it’s really been nearly three years since an update for the multi-media device – which some felt Apple may have felt out of touch with dated technology. Essentially, this marks the first major update to the platform in over five years, as the TvOS didn’t underwhelm in any fashion. A new ouch remote with swipe-to-select functionality was unveiled, offering a new integration of Siri support and motion sensor (allow your body to take that in for a second). In our opinion, the remote alone will soon be breaking up many families and ruining friendships down the line for those who want total home theater access.
The most impressive aspect of the hardware, was detailed searching through its Siri-featured remote. From subject, actor, genre and a specific episode from you’re a TV series is all available in the next-generation search. Guitar Hero Live, Cross Road (with new multiplayer mode) and Disney Infinity 3.0 were also shown, giving consumers a glimpse at future content you’ll be able to use through the set-top-box. Apple TV prices start at $149 for a 32GB and $199 for a 64GB model.
Look for the device to hit retailers and online this October 2015.
