We held off from watching House of Cards for months before we wiped off the cobwebs from Netflix and dove in. It was only one season to check for, and there was still mad time before Season 2 made its premiere (that’s this Friday, by the way). Plus, it’s always hard to invest yourself in a series and have it get it cancelled. Luckily, House of Cards was interesting enough for us to watch through the course of a week.
Off the bat we saw how much of a beast Frank Underwood was as a Congressman and that sentiment carried throughout the first 13 episodes, all the way up the ranks. But it looks like he’s about to become a monster next season.
Disclaimer: Spoilers ahead.
Plotting and scheming his way to the Vice Presidency came with plenty of bumps in the road and political mind-fucks that seem so plausible in office in real life was the game Frank played. The way they ruin people, pull puppet strings, manipulate and deceive each other is quite boggling. And there were some questions left after season one.
1. Will Zoey Barnes bring the administration down?
2. How will the ghost of Peter Russo come back to bite Frank Underwood?
3. Will Remi prove to be an Underwood asset or clear block in the road?
4. How much will Frank Underwood undermine the President?
5. Is Gillian Cole really out for blood against Claire Underwood?
House of Cards will be fucking up plenty of relationships on February 14 (or strengthening them?), when Netflix puts up the whole season of the show for us to binge-watch on Friday. Are you looking forward to what’s on deck for Season 2?
