If you own an iPhone, today is the day that you can upgrade your operating system to iOS10. The new update is compatible iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad devices and will carry features like an overhauled Siri digital assistant and new iMessage interface that works with stickers, apps, etc.

Photos, Phone, Maps, Music, News, Home, and Messages apps are all getting an upgrade as well, and iOS10 is bringing widgets to your user experience.

But it’s not all good out there. Some users have reported problems with the installation. The problem has come when the update process fails and it displays an error message asking users to plug in their iOS device to a PC or Mac computer to completely restore the OS. Obviously if you’re not near a computer, that can completely ruin your day. Plus, if you haven’t backed up your data, it could result in loss of information.

Your best bet is to wait until problems are fixed and/or when you get to a computer in case you run into problems during installation. Make sure you backup your data as well.

iOS 10 is available for free update in the settings menu, for iPhone 5 or higher, iPod touch (6th generation), iPad mini 2 and higher, iPad (4th generation), plus iPad Air and iPad Pro models.
