‘Avatar 2’ arrives during 2017 X-Mas!

Last January, James Cameron had to delay the sequel for Avatar to late 2017, due to plot complexity issues during script writing. Since the unfortunate news, Mr. Cameron has shifted complete focus to the creation process of the film and broke his silence this week with Montreal Gazette.

The Canadian film maker revealed that Avatar 2 is now officially in place to arrive to theaters worldwide on Christmas 2017. He went to say, “Christmas of ’17 is the target. We have design more or less finished, which is an enormous task. It’s been about a two-year task. (We’ve finished) all the creatures and the landscapes, and the new worlds within the world of Pandora that you see. The writing is ongoing, but almost finished. Technical development is done. Stages are done. Infrastructure. So we’re really poised to start after the first of the year.”

The new sequel trilogy series is set to have back-to-back follwoing releases in 2018 and 2019, which all three will be shot simultaneously. The original Avatar, which released in 2009, still holds the record for highest grossing film worldwide ever, at $2.7 billion – at least until Star Wars Episode 7 possibly surpasses it. Look for more details regarding the sequel next year.
