The LL Cool J era of The GRAMMYs has officially come to an end — for now. James Corden has been tapped to host next year’s awards, which will take place on Sunday, February 12 on CBS. James is best known for The Late Late Show and considering he’s on the same network, it makes sense why they would pick him for next year’s awards, at least to just try things out.
The success of his Carpool Karaoke series was probably a big reason why Corden has taken over for next year, after LL’s four-year run (he’s been hosting since 2012).
“I am truly honored to be hosting The Grammys next year. It’s the biggest, most prestigious award show in music and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such an incredible night.”
He may not be as suave as LL, but we’re sure Corden will bring some light-hearted comedy to the show. Maybe even some real zingers.
