Janelle Monáe may have voiced a character in Rio 2, but now she’s got some even bigger leading roles in the works. One of those is an biographical drama called Hidden Figures, directed by Theodore Melfi.
Janelle co-stars alongside Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Kevin Costner, Kirsten Dunst and Jim Parsons in the film, based on Margot Lee Shetterly’s book of the same name. It follows a group of African-American women who provide NASA with mathematical data needed to launch the first successful space missions.
Hidden Figures arrives January 13th.
